Dream Lover Excerpt One

Steve was a happy man. Ali had fed him an incredible dinner, and now she lay beneath him, urging him to make love to her. Steve lifted her ass and thrust, and Ali felt him go so deep that she gasped. They were lost in passion when Steve suddenly stopped and pulled out.

“What the fuck!” he yelled.

Something had bitten him, and the culprit was sitting near them on the bed, glaring menacingly at Steve.

“Ali, your cockatoo just bit me on my ass!” Steve rubbed the sore spot, and some blood came off on his hand.

“Are you okay?” Ali asked, knowing that the bite had to hurt a lot. Naked, she stood and lifted Fred off the bed. The enraged cockatoo began screeching and squawking.

“Bad dadee, Steve! Bad momee! No kissee! Momee only kissee Fwed! Squawk! Squawk!”

The cockatoo was frantically trying to escape from Ali, but despite that, he did not bite her. Ali raced Fred back to his Victorian aviary and placed him inside. This time she made sure to close the door to his room so there would be no more nocturnal flights of fancy for the rest of the evening. When she entered the bedroom, she found Steve examining his posterior in the mirror.

“I’m bleeding from your carnivore. He is no son of mine!”

Ali went to the medicine cabinet and brought over a tube of antibiotic cream and a good-sized band-aid, and applied both to the wound. “I warned you that Fred was in his mating cycle, and unfortunately, he wants to mate with me. But there’s a bright side to all of this,” she told Steve.

“What bright side?” he demanded.

“The wound is small so that you won’t be needing any stitches.” Ali was grateful that Steve had not ended up in the emergency room. “Until Fred is back to himself, we should not show any affection around him.”

Steve looked at Ali as if she had gone crazy.

“Fred loves you despite this slight aggression. He is going through a perfectly normal and natural biological process, and he is extra sensitive right now. Try and understand that we hurt his feelings when he caught us doing the naughty.”

Steve could not believe the way the conversation was going. His beloved seemed to love her bird more than him. “Are you telling me that I have to censure myself around you because of Fred?”

“Yes. But it will just be a slight inconvenience for us. We have to work around Fred’s jealousy until the mating cycle is over. We are the adults, and we will use willpower until Fred has calmed down.”

Steve thought that Fred should be locked up twenty-four hours a day until further notice, but he kept that thought to himself. “I do understand, and I’m not mad at Fred anymore. Who could stay angry at such a cute and adorable bird?” What a load of crap. He had lied to keep the peace between them.
